With Windows 7 out there, a lot of people may want to switch from XP or Vista to the new guy in town, especially because, due to Vista problems, many users are still using Windows XP.
In such cases, the first question that everyone asks is “Is my computer good enough for Windows 7?”.

It seems that the guys from Microsoft saw this coming and made a special program - Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - to answer the question. This program checks your computer's hardware and software to see if it is able to run Windows 7, and lets you know which devices and programs should be changed or upgraded to meet the requirements.

In order to find this out, all you have to do is to download and install the software and then let it scan your computer. A list of devices (including drivers versions) and programs will be displayed. For each item on the list, the program specifies if it is compatible with Windows 7, and if there are known problems or incompatibilities. In such cases a link to developer's site is posted advising users to visit it and get more information.

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will run only on systems with Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP SP2, with .NET Framework 2.0 or higher installed. Easy to install and use, with a friendly interface, it is the program of choice if you want to switch to Windows 7 and are unsure about your machine's performance.
